NHPC JE Eligibility Criteria
Updated 2026To be eligible for the Junior Engineer post, the following criteria must be met:
- Diploma Requirement: The applicant must have completed a 3-year full-time Diploma in the respective discipline (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) from a government-recognized institution.
- Minimum Marks: A minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade is required in the qualifying diploma.
- Restriction: Candidates holding higher qualifications such as B.E. or B.Tech without the mandatory 3-year diploma are not considered eligible for this recruitment.
The upper age limit for candidates applying for the NHPC Junior Engineer 2025 recruitment is fixed at 30 years. The critical date for calculating this age limit is 30th June 2025. This ensures that a wide range of fresh graduates and experienced diploma holders are eligible to compete, provided they meet the educational requirements.
The selection process for the NHPC Junior Engineer 2025 is streamlined and merit-based. It consists of a single phase: the Computer-Based Online Test (CBT). Candidates are evaluated on their technical knowledge and general aptitude through this test. Following the examination, the organization releases the answer key, allowing candidates to estimate their performance. Based on the cut-off marks determined by the selection board, the final list of selected candidates is prepared. Successful candidates are then provided with an Offer of Appointment based on their ranking and the available vacancies in their respective disciplines.

- Candidates domiciled in Jammu & Kashmir (01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989): 05 Years
